We’re very excited to announce that we are going to help make hospital a magical place to be this Christmas.
We’re working with Leeds Children’s Hospital’s play leader Joanne Phillips and Katy Inman to create a magical experience for children staying on Wards L41 and L42 during December and over Christmas period.
Tong’s Marketing Manager, Jo Dales said: “We’re thrilled to be able to give something back to the community that has supported us so well since we were acquired by new owners last year. We’re very happy to embrace Joanne and Katy’s vision and we can’t wait to see the children’s faces when we deliver our magic to the ward.”
Although exact details of the transformation are being kept strictly under wraps, the makeover will include several themed trees, metres of tinsel and hundreds of lights that will be switched on by Santa on the first day of advent to mark the start of the festive period.
Play leader Katy is very excited about the prospect of a new festive look for the ward: “Historically, budget constraints resulted in our Christmas decorations being a bit make do and mend, so it will be fabulous to have a co-ordinated look!“There’s always a bit of friendly rivalry about who’s got the best dressed ward at Christmas times, so we’re really looking forward to an amazing, magical display that will trump the other wards!”
